Thomas Rickerby Street in Halswell/ Kennedys Bush – Thomas Rickerby purchased nearby property in 1900.
A tiny amount of information from the council minutes. A small amount of information from Papers Past. Thomas Rickerby’s house which was opposite Halswell school burnt down in 1902. I don’t know if he was the same Thomas Rickerby who owned a farm in Temuka. Thomas Rickerby died in 1941 and his wife Martha had died in 1938. They were living in Addington at this stage.
Street is too new to be on the library website or maps. I wasn’t actually able to walk this street today as it wasn’t safe because of big trucks and the building work going on. I didn’t think that the builders would be pleased if I got in their way.
