Birchdale Place in the suburb of Halswell, Christchurch

Birchdale Place in Halswell – In the Oaklands subdivision. First appears in street directories in 1978.

A tiny amount of information from the library website. Not much information on Papers Past. A few entries about best street competitions. In 1973 there was a suggestion to develop a playground and there is a reserve called Birchdale Reserve at the end of the street. The reserve has a walkway that goes through to Mapledale Place. Only 10 houses here all built in 1970s. None of the houses stood out for me but it was a pleasant street. It also had a footpath on both sides of the street which I liked.
